The power ballad "You Raise Me Up" is a difficult song to master, especially if you are a 13-year-old boy appearing for the first time on TV's "America's Got Talent" show. Judge Simon Cowell promises to buy the lonely contestant a dog if his singing wows everyone.
His name is Jeffery Li, and he's 13 with a talent for singing and a soul that moves hearts. The teen appeared on the television show "America's Got Talent" in June and expressed to the judges that he was lonely as an only child.

Judge Simon Cowell asked Jeffrey how he'd spend the $1 million prize money if he won AGT. The teen smiled, saying he would share the jackpot with a friend. In fact, he wanted a dog to hang around with.
Simon got right to the heart of the matter:
He actually promised the young man a dog if he did well during his audition.
Jeffery's eyes lit up, and he immediately overcame his stage fright, though his parents looked less than impressed with Simon's offer backstage. Then, the words poured from his lips as he sang Josh Groban's famous hit "You Raise Me Up".

Jeffery Li moves on to the next round of competition, and it was an easy decision by the judge's panel. Simon Cowell congratulated the teen with four yesses!
Cowell also revealed to the world that a new dog was on its way to Jeffery Li.
