This Little Girl Got Whacked By Royal Guard After Greeting Queen With A Curtsy

Sweet, six-year-old Maisie Gregory got more than she bargained for when she met the Queen.

Maisie was selected with the honour of presenting flowers to the Queen after her visit. This is a time-honoured tradition that Maisie executed flawlessly.

But after the Queen turned to leave the building, things took a turn for the unexpected.

Trying to fulfil his duties as a Queen's Guard, one of the Guards makes the motion for an enthusiastic salute to the Queen.

And little Maisie got smacked in the face with a gloved hand. Her beautiful hat went flying from the smack.

You can audibly hear Maisie say "Ow" in the video of the event.

At first in the video, it seems as if the Queen's Guard is unaware or unbothered by the fact that he has struck a young child in the head. The Queen doesn't notice the Guard's mistake and keeps walking towards her car.

But, according to reports by Wales Online, once the Queen is out of the frame the Guard bends down to apologize to Maisie. The Guard also apologized enthusiastically to Maisie's mother, Joanne Gregory, the wife of Regimental Sergeant Major Mertin Gregory.

Maisie was unharmed from the incident. The only effect on Maisie was sleep loss from her excitement to meet the Queen. Sweet Maisie was up and ready to go at 4:45 am that morning. She wanted to be dressed perfectly in her traditional Welsh clothing. She represented her country well.
