It Makes You Happy

Many people find that Christmas decorations and lights give them a feeling of excitement and joy. They often associate some of the decorations that they see with what they experienced when they were younger during the holiday season.

Decorating can also help to relive some of the good memories that were enjoyed with someone even if there has been a loss during the year.

It Makes Neighbors Happy

Homes with Christmas decorations are often rated as those that are cheerful, making their neighbors happier during the holiday season. These homes are often seen as more open to visitors.

When numerous homes in a neighborhood join together in decorating for Christmas, then it creates a warm and welcoming feeling in the area that makes other people want to see.

Desserts Anyone?

Baking early on in the holiday season is a reason to get out your Christmas plates, cookie cutters, and other festive decorations for making everything from cookies to cakes. Make a few holiday cookies to keep in a Santa jar on the counter or to keep on a large plate that is decorated with a snowman or another holiday design.

Red velvet cookies or sugar cookies with green icing are good options to get you in the Christmas spirit a little earlier.

Cold And Cosy Days

As the days progress in the fall and winter seasons, you'll notice that the amount of sunlight that you have shrinks each day. By the time that many people are getting off of work in the evening, it's already dark outdoors. This makes for a long evening at home.

It's also colder during this time of the year, bringing everyone inside instead of playing outside or enjoying time away from home like they do in the summer. Brighten your home and everyone's mood by decorating sooner.

The holiday lights add a twinkle to your home while the decorations offer a warm feeling. A way to fight the blues that you might feel in the winter is to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while looking at your decorations and listening to holiday music.

Showcase Your Creations

Those crafts that you've made over the years and the new ideas that you have brainstormed can be shown off earlier if you don't waste any time decorating for Christmas. This is also a fun time to search for the crafts that you want to make with your family and friends, such as pallet board snowmen or ornaments in bright colors.

Decorating early gives your family and visitors an opportunity to enjoy the things that you have made while also allowing you to spend more time getting your creations just right.

Enjoy The Season

It seems like the Christmas season goes by faster each year. If you put up your holiday decorations earlier than usual, then you can enjoy the season just a little longer. If your children no longer live at home, then this gives them a chance to enjoy the Christmases of when they were younger when they do come to visit as well.

You also get to enjoy the hard work that's involved in decorating your home each year because there's no reason to put lights on the outside of your home and make sure all of the ornaments are just right on your tree and then take everything down again in a week.

Christmas music comes on near Thanksgiving, and what better way to enjoy the classic songs as well as the new tunes that come out than by listening to music while you're decorating?

You've probably been listening to the same genre of songs throughout the year anyway, so why not change things up a bit by listening to festive music on the radio or those CDs that you've stored for years?

Family Time

There's something about decorating and spending time with your family that makes the holiday season brighter. When you're in a rush shopping and getting things ready for parties, the season can often go by too fast. Decorating earlier gives you time to cherish your family and the memories that you make.
