Chester Bennington, the iconic front man for the progressive alternative rock group Linkin Park, was one of the most popular singers of his time. He died on July 20, 2017. Musicians and fans alike were completely shocked when he passed away, as his voice so easily translated into the lives of others. People from all walks of life paid tribute to him when they heard the news.

Perhaps the most emotional, most powerful tribute came in the form of a recent video that circulated around the internet. In the video, Mike Shinoda, co-founder, lyricist, and pianist for Linkin Park was surrounded by a huge crowd of Chester Bennington and Linkin Park fans. Shinoda, performing live, was joined by the crowd in a joint performance of "In The End," one of the band's most well known, famous pieces. The video sparked attention for the raw amount of emotion it produced.

Unfortunately, Chester Bennington took his own life, committing suicide. It seemed that Bennington was unmeasurably affected by the death of his friend Chris Cornell, the singer of Audioslave and Sound Garden.

Things came full circle for Bennington who, in fact, paid his own tribute to Chris Cornell's life after his passing. Just a few months after Cornell's own suicide, people were paying tribute to Bennington.

Perhaps the toughest part of Bennington's death was the lack of evidence that he was struggling. A family man, he came from a large family and had a wife and kids of his own. None of his family members could pinpoint anything wrong with him in the months prior to his suicide.

It appears that Bennington had been struggling with his own inner demons in the form of depression, alcoholism, and drug use.

So many family members were shocked to the core when they got the news. Bennington was literally on a family vacation when he decided to head home a day early for business and work-related reasons. On the day of his return, Bennington was in contact with one of his close friends who admitted that nothing, in his opinion, seemed off.

The day Bennington committed suicide was also the 53rd birthday of his late friend Chris Cornell. Many have speculated whether or not it was a coincidence. Bennington hung himself, the same exact way Cornell took his life.

The death of Bennington left many in dismay. His work in the popular music field will transcend well past his time. He performed in other bands, too, such as Stone Temple Pilots and Grey Daze.

The video of Shinoda and a crowd of fans performing "In The End" truly sparks heart-wrenching feelings of sadness, remorse, and sorrow. The video truly touches upon many themes throughout the song, such as the value of life, the irony of history, dealing with personal demons, and so much more. While tear-jerking, it definitely makes you question various aspects of life in general.

What did you think about the video? Pass it on to your friends and loved ones if you feel like they should see it, too.
