This Homeless Man Rescues Stray Dogs & Thanks To Social Media, Their Lives Changed Forever

Who says you need a lot of money to help others? A homeless man in Arkansas has shown that even if you have nothing, you can still make a difference.

As told by the Dodo, on her way home from work one evening, Alicia spotted something unusual. An older man was riding a bike with a cart attached to it. Even more unusual, the cart had dogs in it. A cardboard sign on the back proclaimed that "God loves strays." Another said "Strays United."

The next time Alicia noticed the man, she pulled over to find out his story. He introduced himself as Steve and told Alicia that he'd been homeless since the early 2000s. He'd spent those years taking in homeless pups.

Steve formed a bond with the dogs -- like him, they were on their own with no one to depend on. Soon, they began to depend on each other. He was trying to take them to a friend in Indiana -- thousands of miles away -- when Alicia stopped him.

Inspired by Steve's selflessness, Alicia decided to help. She began contacting animal advocacy groups and spreading the story on social media. It didn't take long for people to begin donating time and money to Steve and his dogs.

Thanks to the donations, they were able to stay in a motel instead of camping outdoors. An animal rescue organization even contributed medical care, such as spaying and neutering.

The best part? Steve no longer has to depend on an old bike with a makeshift cart attached. He's getting a trailer that will keep him and his dogs safe. It's all thanks to Alicia and her decision to stop and ask one man for his story.

Steve shows that no matter how little you think you have, you can still do something to make the world a better place. Has his story inspired you to make a difference? Pass it along to your friends and family to motivate them and brighten their day!
