This Handsome Boat Captain Saved A Cat That Was Cruelly Thrown Off Of A Bridge

Jul 12, 2018 by apost team

Jordan Smith is a boat captain in Destin, Florida. He works for Let’s Fish Destin Charter.

During his many fishing trips, Smith passes by the Marler Bridge. He has seen many things thrown over the bridge in his time, but it is usually just garbage. So when he saw a man toss something off the bridge in June of 2017, he assumed it was trash. Then he saw that it was a cat!

Smith quickly grabbed his fishing net and scooped the poor cat from the water. As he held the shaking cat he moved towards the shore, hitting the bridge twice out of distraction. Luckily, the boat was sturdy enough to take it!

Smith brought the cat to a shop owned by his friend on HarborWalk, a beachfront area that offers restaurants and shops. Nicole Manard watched the cat while Smith finished up the charter he was on. She was as eager as he was to help this poor animal!

She also took the cat to see a veterinarian, where she received the care she so desperately needed.

Smith picked the cat up when she was healthy enough to leave. He had already fallen in love with her! He adopted her and named her Miracle.

Right after the miraculous rescue, Smith shared a picture of the cat on Facebook. His story went viral and has been shared well over 11,000 times! So many people were moved by his story that they sent toys, food, and donations for Miracle the cat.

Smith has been moved by the experience and says that he didn’t expect to receive so much attention doing something that anyone should have done.

Miracle only knows that she is loved and has a home! She is very happy and comfortable in Smith’s home and is even close to the family dog, a Husky-German Shepherd mix named Aspen.

Police have been looking for the individual who was cruel enough to throw the cat off the bridge. Unfortunately, they haven’t had any luck. While we may never know who would do such a terrible thing, we are so happy she is in a wonderful home. Thank goodness Smith was by the bridge at that moment!
