The great thing about this hack is the fact that escaping from these zip-ties doesn't require a weapon. All you need is the shoes on your feet. This hack works best with sneakers. If you happen to be wearing your favorite pair, you're in luck! In the event that you have been zip-tied, wait until you are left alone to try the hack.

Though your hands will be zip-tied tightly together, you should still be able to perform this trick. Once you have a little time to yourself, start by undoing your shoelaces. Then, bring one shoelace through the gap between your zip-ties. While there is very little space to work with, doing this as efficiently as possible may be the only chance you have to survive.

The shoestring should now be long enough for you to pull it with your hands. As you do this, pull the other shoelace towards the first one so that you can tie them both together.

Once you've tied a tight knot, begin to rub your laces against the zip-tie. The goal is to burn through your ties with the friction from the laces. Though it may take a bit of time and effort get this hack to work, it will! Keep trying to break free and don't give up.

We hope that you'll never need to use this hack in real life, but keep it in the back of your mind just in case.
