Unfortunately, children go missing every day, but the thought of it never becomes less terrifying or upsetting.

You may hear about abductions in small neighborhoods, or even kidnappings happening in public.

Amber Alerts are becoming more and more common, so parents are taking steps in order to ensure that their children feel safe and remain under their watch.

This story is sure to make you even more concerned about the safety of your children. Out on a walk with her friend around 3:45 pm, an 11-year-old young girl was by a park located in San Tan Valley in Arizona when the unthinkable happened.

A white SUV drove past but stopped near them. The driver was a male around 40 years of age. He informed the little girl that her brother had been impacted by a serious accident, and she needed to get in the car with him immediately to see him.

The girl, named Maddison Raines, was quick to understand that this wasn’t right. She realized that the man was trying to conceal his face as he spoke to her, and she suddenly remembered that her family had a code word for emergencies. She asked the man what this word was, but he soon realized he was out of luck as he didn’t know it.

He drove off, likely scared and unsure of what to do next. As soon as the girl and her friend realized that this man may have been trying to abduct them, they ran all the way home as fast as they could and told a relative.

Maddison’s mother, Brenda James, stated in an interview that she has informed her children about the potential dangers of strangers. Thankfully, she had enacted a code word that was to be used in emergencies as part of a safety plan that her entire family had gone over recently.

Now the mother and daughter are speaking out about this incident in order to help others avoid similar circumstances. It’s important to teach your children about the potential dangers and warn them of things to watch out for in case of emergencies. The code word plan is also a great idea, as the children are less likely to go with someone who doesn’t know the word.
