This Crayfish Made The Ultimate Sacrifice To Avoid Being Boiled Alive - And It Worked

This crayfish had to get crafty in order to avoid meeting the ultimate fate.

In a brave, incredible move, the crayfish actually cut off it's own claw in order to escape being thrown into a pot of boiling water at a restaurant.

He was filmed by a Chinese user on the social media website Weibo.

In the clip, the crayfish can be seen quickly amputating his own leg and then scuttering away as fast as he could.

Some people find the clip funny, while others find it disgusting. Many people were complaining about the inhumanity of the clip, others claimed they were going vegan, while otherse still saw humor in it. 

Did the crayfish make it out alive? Of course he did! The user who posted the video, Jiuke, claimed that he had spared the little guy's life and was raising him in an aquarium.

Looks like his act of bravery worked!
