This Chimpanzee Did A Spit Take When He First Saw His Old Caretakers And The Internet Is Loving It

This heart-warming reunion caught on film is a can't miss moment. Limbani, a young chimp, is reunited with the caretakers that saved his life after his mom abandoned him when he was a newborn infant. And, boy, is he happy to see them!

Little Limbani was tragically born with pneumonia, thus prompting his mother to reject him as unfit. But he was rescued. He was taken in by a human couple and, with the backing of the Zoological Wildlife Foundation, they gave him medical treatment and lovingly nursed back to full health. Every single time he sees his personal saviors, he has a big, obvious emotional reaction.

In this meeting, he literally does a spit take, then leaps into the arms of his former caretaker, Jorge. He happily and enthusiastically clings to the man for a moment. He then goes to the man's wife, Tania.

When they showed up, he had just taken a sip from a cup through a straw. This was the perfect set up for a spit take as he then turned around to see the happy surprise with a mouth full of liquid.

After spitting it everywhere, he leaps into Jorge's arms.

Yay! My surrogate papa! They even look like they might share an affectionate kiss at one point. Look closely. It's a little hard to tell what exactly goes on, but Jorge sure looks like he is puckering up.

Yes, Limbani is always this excited to see the two of them! Even if it has been a couple of months, he still recognizes Jorge and Tania. He always reacts strongly in a positive way when he sees them.

Although it flies in the face of what some people believe animals can understand, it seems like he must know he would have died without their loving care. If not that, he certainly seems to understand they were good to him in an important way. They loved him and he loves them back, no?

Did seeing this make you go awwww? Do you think your friends and family would be similarly moved? Why don't you show them and find out!
