This 86-Year-Old Lost 120 Pounds By Walking In Her Living Room Every Morning

With the new year in full swing, people everywhere are hard at work on their resolutions to lose weight. One 86-year-old woman is proving to herself and everyone else in the world that you do not need an expensive gym membership or home exercise equipment in order to get in shape.

The feisty Jessica Slaughter lives alone in a one-bedroom apartment but manages to get all of her exercises in just walking around her home.

Because she does not want to risk falling while walking outside, Slaughter gets in her steps by pacing around her living room and kitchen in her small apartment.

It might not be ideal for some people but it works for Slaughter. She was in her 70s when she decided that she needed to take charge of her health and lose weight.

Although she used to indulge in unhealthy food such as fried chicken and cake, she now practices a vegan diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

Before she had committed herself to a more healthy lifestyle, Slaughter had been pre-diabetic. 

Now she claims that she is healthier than she has ever been before in her life.

Slaughter has harnessed the power of technology to help her on her quest. Her Fitbit keeps track of her daily steps so that she knows she is reaching all of her goals.
