This 3-Year-Old Cancer Patient Was The Flower Girl At Her Bone Marrow Donor's Wedding

Throughout our lives individuals show up to shed a light in a moment of darkness. We often recognize them as our personal angel. Skye is a 3-year-old girl who had her first angel visit by a woman named Hayden. As a result of the moment shared between the two, they are forever connected by an undeniable lifelong bond. Before the age of one Skye was diagnosed with leukemia. Her life was changed forever after meeting Hayden.

When Skye was not even a year old she was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. This new information was devasting for Skye’s parents. Though it was hard to stomach, her parents did everything that they could to help renew Skye’s health according to CNN.  They were completely unaware that they would soon meet a woman by the name of Hayden who would change their lives forever.

Hayden and Skye were miles and miles apart during the time Skye was going through treatment for her leukemia. Hayden was all the way in Alabama attending college while Skye and her family resided in California a report from ABC said. 

While on the journey of finding her purpose in life, Hayden became unsure of what her future held. At this low time in her life she saw a flyer seeking out individuals to donate bone marrow. The organization taking the donations was called Be The Match.

Hayden called the number on the flyer to enquire about more information regarding the program. Soon after, she enrolled in the program and was matched to be the donor for Skye.

Wanting to meet Skye and her family after the procedure for the donation, Hayden wasn’t able to. The regulations had placed restrictions on families and donors which prohibited them from contacting one another for one year after the donation had been given.

After a year had passed the family reached out to Hayden to thank her for all that she had done for Skye and their family. This marked the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

As a result of wanting to meet the family Hayden invited them all to her wedding. Her wedding day was one to remember and was made even better when she was finally able to meet Skye. Hayden and Skye are a beautiful blessing in humanity. " I feel so connected to them, they're like family now," Hayden said to ABC News.
