These High School Sweethearts Finally Got Their Dream Wedding After 21 Years Of Being Together

Even though they are young, love somehow finds a way to make these marriages work. In the case of Kristin and Jeff, love enabled the couple to have a wonderful marriage, despite the fact that they married when they were young.
In an interview with the Inside Edition, Kristin and Jeff tell their story and how they became high school sweethearts in 1997. But the couple did not have time to plan a big wedding ceremony. Instead, they had a small, intimate ceremony. Kristin and Jeff Colburn were pronounced "husband and wife." They said loving "I do's" before their parents, siblings and a few close friends.
“We met in high school. I was dating one his friends, he was dating one of my friends. We chatted with each other. He broke up with her and he kind of encouraged me to break up with my boyfriend and said he’d be a better fit, and he took me out on a first date and we started from there,” Kristin said.

Jeff and Kristin had graduated from high school right before the wedding. After they were pronounced "husband and wife," Jeff traveled to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to serve in the military.
Many of their acquaintances in the hometown of Hinsdale, New York, expressed doubts about the young couple's future happiness. They felt that Kristin and Jeff were too young to get married. However, their assumptions were incorrect.
This year, Kristin and Jeff celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary. They have led a happy life and are blessed with three beautiful children.
Nonetheless, Kristin had always hoped to have a large wedding. After noticing the Hallmark's Making Up for Missed Moments contest, she submitted her entry with hopeful anticipation. The winner of the contest would have a chance to redo the wedding ceremony for free.
“I feel like we deserve it because it’s been a long time and we’ve been married almost 22 years, got married really young and I thought it would be something special to do for us,” Kristin said.
Kristin and Jeff were amazed when they won. The couple flew to Kansas City, Missouri, courtesy of Hallmark. Next, they had a chance to express their vows a second time with their own special words.
After saying their vows, Kristin and Jeff were served a delicious four-course meal. The contest served to make their strong marital bond even stronger.
