While we may not realize it, penguins often display affection towards one another. There are many bird species that are monogamous. Some will even return to the same area in order to find their previous partner to breed with, year after year.

Each bird will go off on their own solo journey throughout the year, but when it is time to breed again they will come back to the same spot to find one another. Both will then work together to protect the eggs before they hatch.
