Their Townhouse Didn't Have Enough Room for Their Family, So They Created Space Above The Foyer

We all love huge spaces, but certain parameters such as budgets and scarcity of land will push us to acquire what’s available. But what if we told you that you actually do have a lot of space in your home!

There is a lot of space in our homes that goes wasted or ignored. Since we can’t dig deeper for more space or expand the walls (we might crash into the neighbors), we can try heading upwards.

Most of us have foyers that generally account for wasted space since they house literally nothing. And if they do, the objects in there have close to no use and value for us, especially in everyday life. Some of us use the foyers once in a blue moon to impress visitors, but one mother has thought outside the box and explored her innovative side to find another purpose for her home's foyer.

Angie, the lady of the house, spotted an untapped space in her house. They say got to lack something in order to gain something. Angie discovered that she could transform her foyer space into a playroom for her daughter and a workspace for herself.

She set out on a journey to turn her foyer into a loft.

Instead of struggling to expand rooms or moving to bigger houses, Angie managed to make more from her foyer. It only needed a floor to complete the room. Angie figured it would be something doable and so she went for it.

Angie brought her husband and father-in-law over and explained what her needs and desires were: to see a loft created within the foyer. Taking a look at the before and after pictures, you wouldn't believe that this was a DIY project. With a stable base, Angie was guaranteed the rest of the development would materialize into a gorgeous loft.

Thankfully, after the successful project was completed thanks to the father and son duo, a staircase was installed to aid with easy movement to and from the loft. Angie’s imagination and innovation led to an entire spacious room from a two bedroom townhouse that she converted into a small workspace and playroom for her daughter.

You can watch the process in the video below:

It doesn’t have to take thousands of dollars to get that home improvement project on track. Do you draw any inspiration from Angie’s creativity? Someone in your friend group may be struggling with something similar to Angie’s case.
