Another season of the hit TV show “The Voice” has ended, and the winner has been crowned. It was down to the top four contestants but only one could come out on top.

It was the 16th season of the singing competition, and this time around the format was shaken up a little by introducing Cross Battles as well as a new coach: John Legend. It definitely kept things fresh and kept audiences tuning in.

Tuesday’s finale featured three of coach Blake Shelton’s representatives and one of new coach’s John Legend’s. That means the other coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson didn’t send any of their reps into the final. The final four had different personalities and singing styles, and their backgrounds are detailed on The Voice website.

Maelyn Jarmon

John Legend’s representative Maelyn Jarmon was a favorite from the beginning at the Blind Audition when she performed Sting’s “Fields of Gold.” Fans also remember her for her incredible story. She had hearing damage in both of her ears after complications from surgery at only two years old.

Gyth Rigdon

Gyth Rigdon was a country fan favorite, and he had everyone impressed from the very beginning with a countrified version of  “Drift Away” at his audition. He was in high demand and Blake Shelton even used a block to keep John Legend from being his coach. Gyth joined up with Team Blake after explaining to the judges that music was in his family.

He had started singing around the campfire with them and his dad booked him into shows at a biker bar starting at age 17, and now at 25, he still sings there. Jake Owen and Gary Allen are two of the artists Gyth has performed with.

Andrew Sevener

Another country talent joined Team Blake after he was the only coach to turn his chair during his audition. Andrew Sevener sang the song “Honky Tonk Women” for the four coaches, and made it all the way to the finals.

Andrew also had a musical lineage, his mom was a country singer and his dad was in a rock band. But the whole trend started when Andrew asked his dad to teach him guitar so that Andrew could impress his crush.

Dexter Roberts

The fourth singer to make it to the finals was also a member of Team Blake who sings country music. His name is Dexter Roberts and he covered “Like A Cowboy” for his audition. He’s actually a singing competition veteran, after being on American Idol and coming in 7th place.

The results of the four singers’ placements are:

4th place: Andrew Sevener, Team Blake

3rd place: Dexter Roberts, Team Blake

2nd place: Gyth Rigdon, Team Blake

1st place: Maelyn Jarmon, Team Legend
