The Radfords, Britain's Biggest Family, Give Savvy Seasonal Tips And Amount Of Time It Takes To Wrap Presents For Over Twenty Kids

The winter holidays, although the jolliest time of year, can end up getting quite chaotic too. Besides having their children home for the winter break, parents also have to find presents for Christmas.

For the largest family in Britain, you can imagine just how chaotic the holidays must be. However, even with a family of more than twenty children, the Radfords claim that Christmas goes by rather quickly. Unsurprisingly, the family of 24 have a few tricks up their sleeves for making the holidays go by smoothly. 

Although the family has 22 children, they currently do not receive any form of federal assistance benefits. The father, Noel, runs a bakery; however, the couple states that they do not rely on the revenue from his business for holiday gifts.

Additionally, mom Sue revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail in 2018, that the family does not use credit cards.

"We don’t have credit cards — I don’t believe in them — so we budget on between £100 and £200 for a main present for each of the kids," she said.

"The older kids tend to get more spent on them because they want things like Xboxes and TVs. They can’t always have it, though," she added

Last year, the family shared a photo on Instagram showing personalized Christmas stockings, each containing little goodies for the children like sweets and festive mugs.

In addition to the stockings, the children found a huge stack of presents under the tree on Christmas morning, too. The parents make sure to place each present in a specific place each year to avoid mix-ups and confusion.

Wrapping gifts can be time-consuming for even, say, five presents. Now imagine wrapping presents for 22 children. Sue considers herself as a "master wrapper," being that she can wrap 20 presents within a mere 15 minutes. Her secret? 

 "I buy presents through the year, and wrap them as they come in," she told the Daily Mail. " One of our biggest headaches at Christmas is where to hide all the gifts. We have them everywhere — even in the boiler cupboard. The trick is remembering where!"

Unsurprisingly, wrapping so many gifts take a whole lot of wrapping paper. Between 60-70 rolls, to be exact. 

Each year during Christmas, Sue shares a video to her Youtube channel showing the children unwrapping their presents. After every child has finished unwrapping, the living room floor is covered with a mountain of wrapping paper. Sue states that after the winter holidays, things calm down for a while, with the exception of an occasional birthday.

One last tip that she gives for Christmas shopping is that online stores often give the best deals. By shopping online, you can save on both gas and money, as online stores are more likely to offer heavier discounts and free shipping.
