1. Avoid certain foods including:

  • Baked goods
  • Fatty meat and fish
  • Apricots, bananas, and grapes
  • Rice
  • Oats
  • Caffeinated drinks
  • Dried fruits
  • Soda
  • Alcohol
  • Fatty dairy products
  • Sauces

2. Focus on these foods:

  • Lean seafood, including tuna, shrimp, and squid
  • Lean dairy products, including fat-free cottage cheese and yogurt
  • Eggs
  • Chicken breast
  • Turkey
  • Nuts and seeds
  • High-protein beans and legumes, like chickpeas
  • Oranges
  • Apples
  • Kiwi
  • Grapefruits
  • Tangerines

3. Less oil and salt

Avoid using oil when you cook and limit your use of salt.

4. Snacking is important

Instead of eating three large meals a day, eat smaller snacks six to seven times throughout the day. Try to have your last snack within two hours of bedtime.

5. Eat at the right time

Avoid eating protein products and fruit at the same time. For example, eat fruit in the morning and switch to a protein-rich food like eggs or chicken at lunchtime.

6. Eat in moderation

One or two pieces of fruit is a serving, depending on how big the fruits are. A serving of protein is 200 grams.

7. Stay hydrated

Drink at least half a gallon of water every day. In particular, make sure that you drink a cup of water before each meal and snack.

8. Exercise

Get some exercise every day. Walking is an excellent low-impact exercise that you can do anywhere.
