You Will Need:

  • 1 box, spice cake mix
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup caramel ice cream topping, divided
  • 1 (8oz) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping (Cool Whip)

How to Make Pumpkin Caramel Cream Cheese Cake

1. Grease a 9 by 13 pan and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Blend together the cake mix, eggs, water, vegetable oil, and pumpkin puree.

3. Spread evenly in the pan and bake for 40 minutes.

4. Use the end of a wooden cooking spoon to evenly poke holes every two inches across the baked cake.

5. Microwave ½ cup of the caramel sauce for 20 seconds until liquid and pourable. Gently pour it into all the holes in the cake and spread it across the surface of the cake.

6. Let the cake cool while you combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk to make homemade cream cheese frosting.
 

7. Fold the whipped topping into the frosting and smooth it over the top of the cake.

8. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on the cake to decorate.
