The Only Puppy Left At Forster Home Cries Constantly Until Forster Mom's Heartbeat Comforts Him

Nov 06, 2019 by apost team

The story begins when a homeless and pregnant dog gave birth to six puppies. After the birth, the decision was made to send the puppies' mother to a foster home without her puppies. Being separated from their mother was obviously a traumatic event for the tiny puppies.

The litter of six puppies was then separated as well, with three puppies being sent to one foster home, and three puppies being sent to yet another foster home. To make matters worse, during the sensitive adjustment period when the puppies were becoming acclimated to life without their mother, one of the puppies became very sick and passed away, leaving only two remaining puppies.

Shortly after one of the puppies died, yet another puppy became very ill and had to be removed from the foster home to receive additional treatment. This left one puppy named Rhett alone and terrified. Rhett was nearly inconsolable after so many losses and cried constantly day and night.

Despite Mariann’s attempts to comfort Rhett with toys and a new bed, nothing seemed to work. The only thing that seemed to bring Rhett any comfort was holding him, something that Mariann could not do as much as Rhett needed her to. That is when she got the idea to try putting Rhett into a sling designed to allow mothers to strap newborn babies onto their chest.

Rhett loved being strapped into the sling, and this solution allowed Mariann to accomplish other tasks while Rhett got the warmth and security he needed to heal and grow strong. Mariann was careful to not leave Rhett in the sling too long so that he would not become too dependent on it, and over time Rhett was able to make it through the day without needing time in the sling at all.

Rhett is now a happy, playful, and well-adjusted pet thanks to Mariann finding a way to give him the one thing he needed most, love.
