The Pistol Annies have once-again shocked the world and their fans with a controversial celebration to divorce. Their new music video has been long anticipated. Audiences are shocked and unnerved with the release of their song titled “Got My Name Changed Back.”

Celebrating Divorce Openly

The song was written by all three members of the group. Ashley, Miranda, and Angaleena penned the controversial subject-matter as a team. It’s a ground-shaking preview of what their next studio album has to over fans.

“Interstate Gospel” is their third major album, and it was set for retail-release on November 2nd. Miranda leads the vocals as the story unfolds. The female character of this track is going through the motions of changing her last name after a divorce.

Their video places the three singers in a courtroom setting. They are giving their testimony during mock divorce proceedings. The ladies are magically dressed in flamboyant outfits after spilling their hearts out to the judge and jury. They open a few bottles of wine and pour it out in remembrance of their once-happy relationships.

It gets even more outlandish as the video goes on. They then take a road trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles to have their IDs updated. Then they run straight to bank to withdraw large amounts of cash. You’ll probably get the feeling that they are flaunting divorce settlement payouts. That seems to be the case.

There’s also a huge cake and a giant party. It’s like a surreal anti-bachelor party that would confuse the average person. Some people love the song a ton. To others it's a cringe-filled pity-party for attention. Consumer opinion is at odds across the board.

The Pistol Annies performed it live at the Ryman Auditorium. Angaleena Presley said a quick disclaimer before they unveiled their new musical masterpiece. She announced that this amazing song wasn’t written about anyone specific. Miranda let the crowd know that Angaleena was totally lying.

This is definitely upsetting to single parents and children who have gone through the horrible pain of divorce. Many fans are outraged by the blatant anti-marriage message of this new song. Others are just excited for the new album release, and they see it as a fun-loving approach to critical issues the world is facing.

Many are coining this single as the polar-opposite of "He Didn't Have To Be" by Brad Paisley. That song was well-known for its uplifting representation of marriage. It was praised for encouraging fans to build a strong sense of family. Check out the ladies' new video right here:
