We all know the popular yet doomed ship known as the Titanic. Soon, a replica of this “ship of dreams,” as it came to be known, will set sail on the same course as it did on April 10th, 1912.

An announcement concerning the launch date was made in 2013, but the date was then suspended because of financial restrictions. However, we have now heard that the luxury ship, Titanic II, will be ready for launch in 2022.

A media release from Blue Star Line has confirmed that all financial matters have been taken care of, and the ship will carry passengers on the same journey as it did before. Clive Palmer, the chairman of Blue Star Line, told the media that passengers will sail from Southampton to New York, the same course that the original ship set sail on.

However, she will also travel around the world in an effort to enchant and inspire people everywhere she docks. Palmer is an Australian businessman who has been dreaming of this launch for years.

The RMS Titanic set forth on its maiden voyage over 100 years ago, from Southampton, England. The ship, a passenger liner carrying many of the richest men and women in the world, left port on April 10, 1912. Over 2,200 people were aboard the ship as it headed towards New York City.

The ship hit an iceberg, four days later, causing more than 1,500 passengers to lose their lives. To date, about 6,000 artifacts have been recovered from the wreckage.

The tragedy was brought back to life after a movie depicting the voyage was released in 1997, starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. James Cameron was the director of the movie, which grossed 659 million dollars after being released in the United States.

The total cost of the movie was 200 million dollars.

The Titanic II has been built with the same cabin layout and interior as the original. However, there will be modern technology and safety procedures incorporated into the design.

Blue Star Line wrote on their website that this recreation is to honor the 100-year commemoration of the original launch.
