An interesting and intriguing discussion question has been popping up recently. It has taken on a life of its own as local radio hosts, to television anchors, to popular celebrities have all weighed in with their thoughts.

Do you wash your legs in the shower?

While this may seem like a simple question, the responses have been all over the place.

This question was taken to Twitter, and a poll was created. Over 80% of those who responded said that yes, they wash their legs in the shower. This then lead to a discussion as to what was considered washing.

Do you need to physically take soap and scrub all parts of your legs? Is letting water and soap run down the length of your legs considered cleaning them? Not everyone can reach their back, but water run downs it for the majority of the shower. Can that same theory be applied to the legs?

For those who said they do not wash their legs, a main response was that the legs are inside of pants all day and not exposed to the elements. Are those legs still considered clean? Not all respondents were convinced. They stated that other body parts are in pants all day as well and needed to be tended to.

The main reason we all shower is to get rid of the dead skin, any dirt, sweat, and any smells that could be on the body. Some of us shower each day. For those who don’t, how dirty do you really get if you aren’t running marathons through the mud?

There seems to be no definite conclusion to this debate as there is no manual available that has the rules for washing. As all of us are unique, how and when we shower will vary greatly from person to person. The poll results reflect that and more.
