Brown is a relatively fresh voice in the music industry, having broken through to the mainstream with his single The Git Up last year. The multi-platinum track proved to be an instant hit, even prompting a viral dance challenge dubbed The Git Up Challenge

The singer used to be a songwriter and producer in hip hop music but made the switch to country when launching his own music career. He has since released an EP as well as a full-length album titled Honeysuckle & Lightning Bugs. He was also recently featured on Diplo’s song, Do Si Do.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight late last year, Brown described his shot to fame through The Git Up along with the viral dance challenge that came with it “magical.”

"Honestly, to see people doing my dance and seeing the joy it brings to people is just so magical to me," Brown said.

"It's something that you can't calculate. Every time I wake up and I click on a video, it's a new dance, somebody else doin' it."

Our thoughts are with Blanco Brown and his family at this difficult time.
