‘The Carol Burnett Show’ Actor Lyle Waggoner Has Passed Away Aged 84

Legendary actor Lyle Waggoner, best known for starring in the Carol Burnett Show, died on Tuesday morning at the age of 84, his son announced that same day.  

 The actor dies following a battle with cancer in his home surrounded by his family.

Lyle Waggoner became a beloved actor as a voice actor and sketch artist in the Carol Burnett Show between 1967 and 1974. The actor then made a name for himself in the late 70s, when he portrayed Steve Taylor in Wonder Woman. 

Following the tragic news, his long-time friend Carol Burnett released a statement to TMZ, saying,

“He was funny, kind and multi-talented. But even more than that, a loving friend. I will miss him.”

Waggoner also starred in many other shows, such as Love Boat. Being a heartthrob at the time, he even became the first male seminude model to appear in a 1973 issue of Playgirl.

Following his retirement from acing, Waggoner went on to start a company named Star Waggons, which specializes in leasing out trailers to be used by actors in the entertainment industry.
