Kate Middleton is known for many things as a senior member of the royal family; from her impeccable taste in fashion to her passion for causes, Kate has proven herself to be an excellent queen consort in the making. However, her role as a mother to her three children, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, has made her a fan favorite as well. Kate has beautifully balanced her duties of work and motherhood well.
The same can be said about Prince William, who has shown that he is an incredible father to all of his children. Kate and William have done their best to keep their personal life private and show just how much of a normal family they actually are. However, with such a prime spot in the public eye, it was only time until people began to notice the ways in which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge act toward their three adorable children. Throughout their many outings and interactions as a family, the royal couple has shown nothing but love, affection and support for each other and their kids.
Having their whole life in the public eye, the royal family announced their move from Kensington Palace to Windsor at the beginning of the children’s school year in September 2022. This included a change of school for the kids to a private prep school that would allow them to grow and learn in new ways. Moving from a regular school schedule to a six-day-a-week schedule, the children gained access to new learning opportunities.

Prince William and Duchess Kate's lives have become much busier after their children's start at Lambrook. The news was first released in August of 2022 when a senior royal source told ABC News that the royal couple wanted to give their children a normal upbringing. “As the children get older and more independent you can see why they would feel they have more breathing space in Windsor,” the source shared.
The private prep school shared that they were ecstatic to welcome the royal family into their school. According to ABC News, Jonathan Perry, headmaster of the school shared this statement, “We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community.”
There, the children have access to one-of-a-kind learning opportunities. The two oldest children also moved from five days of school to six. The school shared that sports are a large part of their school curriculum.
"Sport is very much part of the curriculum at Nursery and Pre Prep level and pupils are able to try a wide range of sports. At Prep level, pupils take part in football, rugby, hockey, athletics, netball and cricket. Cricket and football are now both compulsory for our girls and we have had some fantastic success in these disciplines,” the school website shared.
“Pupils also have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of other sports such as golf, lacrosse, trampolining, badminton, squash, tennis, swimming, basketball and skiing,” it also said.

Aside from sports, school students have access to state-of-the-art facilities. According to People, students have access to a $7 million dollar design and technology building that is home to art studios, science labs and computer suites.
Seeing as Prince Louis is the youngest child, he won’t be learning at such a high level as his brother and sister just yet. Instead, he'll be learning with a focus on outdoor activities. People also reported that he could be doing a variety of activities such as playing in the mud, looking after bee hives, collecting chicken eggs from the coop and learning den building.
According to Lambrook, the students also have access to one-of-a-kind courses. “... pupils in the Prep School have a dedicated ‘Enrichment Afternoon’ with opportunities for our pupils continu(ing) to complement their academic studies in areas including, Farming, Bee Keeping, Chess, Mountain Biking, Fencing, Judo, Fencing, Film Making, Squash, Scuba Diving ... Song writing, Mini Masterchef, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Golf (on our 9 hole course), Polo, Podcast making, Sewing, Skiing, Swimming, Tennis, Life Saving, Survival, Debating and Public Speaking,” the website stated.
This new school and structure are a part of the lifestyle that the family had been looking for. The move from London to Windsor helps give the children the opportunity to have somewhat close to a regular childhood. "But this has been driven by what William and Kate want for their children and they have always been resolved to try and have a normal family life," a royal source shared. Moving out of the palace and into Adelaide Cottage also gives the family a more normal lifestyle. The cottage is four-bedrooms with no room for live-in staff.
