The Beatles Stars Paul McCartney And Ringo Starr Reunite At Dodger Stadium
Jul 15, 2019
The lucky audience at Paul McCartney’s recent Los Angeles concert were treated to another Beatle. McCartney reunited with his former drummer Ringo Starr on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium - the same place where the Beatles played their second-to-last public performance in 1966.
In a video uploaded to Youtube, McCartney is heard telling the crowd “We’ve got a surprise for us, a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone," before announcing "ladies and gentlemen, the one and only, Ringo Starr!"
The crowd cheered as Starr came on stage. The former bandmates hugged before McCartney reportedly told Starr “I love you, man." Starr got behind the drum set and the two performed famous Beatles' tracks including "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" and the infamous "Helter Skelter."
After Starr’s surprise appearance, McCartney had another guest for the crowd. Keeping it in the family, McCartney brought out Eagles guitarist - and Starr’s brother-in-law - Joe Walsh to the stage to play The Beatles' song “The End.”
“The best part is we didn’t have a clue what we were doing,” McCartney told the excited crowd after his second guest’s surprise appearance.
It’s been a week of celebrations, the on-stage reunion comes one week after Starr celebrated his 79th birthday at Capitol Records in Hollywood.
