Katie Sturm had once believed she was incapable of giving birth, reports NBC 12. However, her case has been one of many surprises and twists and turns.

First, she discovered that she had conceived quadruplets naturally. That very rare occurrence has a one in 700,000 chance of happening. While that was good news, it was also overwhelming. Raising a child can be tough, yet she was facing the prospect of raising four boys. She confessed to crying for two days as she processed the news.

As though the news of her quadruplets was not enough, Katie had another surprise that had an even impact on her. Two weeks after she learned about the quadruplets, she discovered that she had a brain tumor. She had to undergo surgery to remove the tumor before she gave birth, reports NBC 12.

If giving birth to quadruplets was already daunting, learning about a brain tumor before childbirth was sure to be one of the most frightening things she could experience. Naturally, her husband was also very concerned about the situation as he could have lost his wife and unborn babies if anything were to go wrong. The experience was nerve-wracking for the family. A lot was at stake and the outcome of the surgery would have a huge impact on everyone. Luckily, after undergoing the surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Centre, Katie recovered well.

It takes a lot of resilience to go through brain surgery and then later give birth to four babies. Katie was able to go through the process despite her initial fears that she would never be able to conceive naturally and bear biological children, reports NBC 12.

Once the surgery was over, she was able to give birth on July 3, 2020 and settle back home with a massively expanded family. From being convinced she would never conceive to having quadruplets in addition to her three-year-old, this woman’s life has surely had some very surprising events.

Katie Sturm went through a roller-coaster of emotions as she learned of her quadruplets and later her tumor. Amidst all the fear, she overcame everything and had a successful surgery and delivery. Her life is definitely never going to be the same after that experience.
