Little Ja’bari Gray is already proving to be a fighter. Born on New Year's Day, the little boy was born without skin. The San Antonio baby also suffers from a host of additional complications that are currently being treated.

Mother Priscilla Maldonado Gray enjoyed a pregnancy with no complications other than slow weight gain for the baby. Her and her husband, Marvin, were shocked to learn that Ja'bari was missing the majority of his skin when he was born.

The little boy was born weighing just three pounds, complicating the already fragile health issues.

Ja'bari was born was his eyes fused shut and his chin fused together with his chest. In addition, his fingers had failed to separate. Doctors initially diagnosed Ja'bari with aplasia cutis, a condition in which the skin is not developed.

Further tests are needed in order to determine the best course of treatment. While the family waits, Ja'bari will have surgery to separate his chin from his chest.

However, further testing at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston indicated that the baby may have epidermolysis bullosa. This extremely rare genetic condition causes the skin to blister easily.

The family set up a GoFundMe page with a goal of $100,000 to raise funds for ongoing medical costs and a possible move to Houston to be closer to the professionals at Texas Children's Hospital.
