Jul 25, 2019 by apost team
David and Sylvia Mason are the epitome of true love. The couple has been married for 66 years and has seen it all together.
Unfortunately, failing health has separated the two love birds. The 90-year-old David has been diagnosed with terminal cancer while his wife Sylvia is living in a different care home designed to treat people with dementia.
David was finding life unbearable without his sidekick by his side. According to the Liverpool Echo, he asked the staff at Charlotte House in the Wirral to help him fulfill his final wish: one last kiss with his beloved wife.

How could the staff possibly say no to such a sweet request? Thankfully, the staff captured the sweet moment of reunification on video so that everyone could share in on this touching celebration of love.
"He's such a lovely man. He kept telling me how much he adores her and that she's been his wife for 66 years," Natalie Fitch, who is the Activities coordinator ar Charlottes House told the publication. "We run something called the Wishing Well Programme at the home where we ask each resident if they could wish to do one thing what would it be, so they don't feel like there's nothing left to live for.
"So I went and sat down with David and he was saying how much he misses his wife and that he'd love to spend time with her and have one last kiss with her.
When the video begins, David is seen waiting anxiously in the home's waiting area. In his arms, David held a bouquet of heart balloons to present to his beloved when she is wheeled through the doors. David even arranged for the song "You Are My World" by Tom Jones to be played as Slyvia came to his side. He knew that this moment would be special because the song had always been Sylvia's favorite.
Charlotte House's Natalie Fitch was the lucky person assigned to coordinating the event. Fitch said that David was so content as the two sat watching a World War II-era movie. Fitch said that the pair kept whispering how much they miss and love each other as they enjoyed sitting together. The two could not quit kissing each other as they cuddled together.
This reunification was part of the unique Charlotte House end-of-life Wishing Well program. Other requests from residents over the years have included visits to the beach and to the pub. As the home's activities coordinator, Fitch said that they try everything to grant these special wishes for their clients.
