Do you remember prom night back in high school? It’s one of the most exciting events of one’s high school life. Other than the fact that it’s one of the last major events in high school, it can make or break the rest of your life. Some people are excited about the actual event while others just want to make it a night to remember. This is the story of one teenage girl whose prom was saved by the most unexpected person.

Miss Kaylah Bell was very excited about prom and couldn’t wait to make memories.

However, her date didn’t show up to prom.

Instead of letting this ruin her special high school moment, Kaylah gathered enough courage to ask her grandpa to be her prom date.

Alvin Hackett, or ‘papa’ as Kaylah calls him, didn’t disappoint. He knew how special this day was for his granddaughter; therefore, he got all dressed up in a striped suit.

His outfit matched his granddaughter’s. They posed for the camera and took numerous photos with papa playing his part as the gentleman.

After that, Kayla decided to post the pictures on her Twitter and Instagram accounts. She was happy that papa came to the rescue and didn’t think much about her posts.

Later on, her friend texted her and told her that she had gone viral on Twitter. Kaylah’s pictures got 110,000 likes and 12,000 retweets. Unless you are a public figure or celebrity, you know that those numbers are not easy to get on Twitter.

Since her post had gone viral, Kaylah was approached by the media. One journalist from Yahoo Lifestyle asked her why she had asked her papa and not any other member of the family to be her prom date.

She simply replied that papa was the only man that she knew who had style. In fact, papa went out and bought a new suit for the prom. He also gave Kaylah a corsage for her special night.

Then, he drove her to the event and left because there’s an age limit on who attends such events. Kaylah is thankful that her grandfather was there when she needed him the most. For that, she will never forget her prom night.
