You never know when it will be your chance to be a hero, so it’s always important to speak up if you feel like something isn’t quite right. It’s a golden rule that if you see something unusual, you should say something about it to someone that can help. It just takes one random act to change someone’s life, and these two boys from Pennsylvania realized just important their actions were on one Spring night.

In their state, there’s a popular hiking location known as the Dunmore Reservoir. When two high school boys, an 18-year-old named Joe Delvecchio, and a 15-year-old named Alec Yanisko decided to go riding their ATVs through the area on the reservoir’s nature trail, they discovered something that would change their lives.

Unbeknownst to the boys, there was a mystery going on in their town that had yet to be solved, and they were the ones who were about to stumble upon the pieces that would help solve the puzzle.

It’s uncommon for cars that are usually driven on the road to be found in the area of the reservoir that they were exploring, so when the boys stumbled upon an SUV in the area they knew that something wasn’t quite right.

The car was a quarter mile from the nearby roads, and they weren’t sure what this car was doing there. Further suspicions arose when they realized that the windows of the car were smashed in, and the car seemed to be stuck in place by a large log. Thankfully, the boys stood up for what was right and decided to investigate the scene.

Bringing out their inner investigative skills, the boys decided to look around the car to see if they could find out who it belonged to and what it was doing there. Since they were able to reach into the car because of the broken windows, they found a membership card for Sam’s Club.

Thankfully, the card had a name on it: Edwin Kosik. To find the owner of the vehicle, the boys decided to Google search his name to see what would come up.

That’s when everything changed. They realized that the man whose card they were holding had been in the news for several days. Thankfully, the boys decided to tell their parents and alert the police about what they had found, eventually solving the mystery. You can learn more about the boy’s courageous actions in the video below.
