A teen who is being hailed as a hero for saving his neighbor's life says that he was inspired by his dad as he performed the heroic act.

16-year-old Zac Clark is a sophomore at Clear Fork Colts High School in Bellville, Ohio. The football player recently lost his father over the summer. While Zac is known for his physical strength, this loss has also caused him to be strong internally. This strength was displayed in full force when he was able to lift a car up off of his neighbor. Zac was in his yard with his mother, Lora Clark, when he heard a loud noise followed by screaming coming from the direction of his neighbor's house. Zac quickly sprinted to provide assistance to the 39-year-old man who was trapped underneath his vehicle.

The man had been working underneath his Volkswagen when the car jack failed and the vehicle fell on top of him. When Zac arrived on the scene, he found the neighbor pinned underneath the vehicle with only his legs sticking out. Zac was able to summon his strength and the memory of his late father to miraculously lift the 3,000-pound vehicle while his mother and the man's wife helped to free the neighbor from the entrapment.

The poor man was rushed to the hospital. He walked away from the incident with a few cracked ribs and a lacerated face. Zac's football coach, Dave Carroll, said that he was not surprised to hear that his player was a hero. The coach said to USA Today that Zac exemplifies every character trait that you would want out of your football player.

“I just thank God for putting me in the position and giving me the strength to do that," said Zac to Fox8.
