Teenager Has ‘Burning’ Grid-Like Mark On Arm And Mom Learns It’s From A Deadly Caterpillar

Andrea Pergola is the mother of a 15-year-old boy. She recently took to Facebook to post a warning (now taken down) to others after her son became sick. However, this warning is something not everyone is aware of. It is a warning that is very important to others because you may not realize that it can quickly happen to you or your children.

Logan, Andrea's son, was out collecting tree branches one day as part of volunteer work. While he was out, he felt something sting the skin of his wrist. In just a few minutes, Logan realized that a rash was forming. The rash appeared as a red grid-like mark on his skin. It quickly started to spread up his arm and then over to his chest.

Logan also experienced a bad burning sensation along with the rash. As the rash spread the burning became almost unbearable. Logan felt very dizzy and became pale as his mother tried to take care of him. Andrea did everything she could to make him feel better. She washed the area repeatedly and even tried to rub garlic on it according to Fox News, which is said to pull out the venom from bug bites. However, nothing she did for him made him feel better.

It was a "cute" caterpillar that looked completely harmless. Andrea put gloves on and put the bug in a plastic baggie and rushed her son and the bug to the local ER. Once there, Andrea said to Fox that a doctor knew what it was.

Andrea wants everyone to know to research this particular caterpillar and to make sure your kids are aware of what it looks like. She went on to say that if you or your child is bitten by one, it can be deadly if you don't take the proper steps afterward. She said that over-the-counter medications like Benadryl will not work with this type of bite.
