There are no words to describe that moment when you gift a child a pet and they react with pure joy and emotion. Every kid loves a furry friend, and one teen was no exception.

Some pets are given to children who have a disability that prevents them from leading the lives that most children have. One girl like this got her dream, and the whole episode was captured on camera. The gifting of the pet dog took place on Summer Shott's birthday. The girl is a teen from southwest London who has been experiencing epileptic attacks since she was born. On top of that, she has hemiplegia and cerebral palsy, her family told Caters News.

The day of her birthday, she received a card from her mother, Cheri Johnson. Under the flap of the card was a small Chihuahua dog waiting for her. The pup had its name along with it. They called it Buddy. The girl was so surprised and couldn't believe it was for her at first. She squealed and covered her face with her hands out of surprise. The mother was ready to capture the moment as she knew that her daughter would be on cloud seven after seeing the puppy. After a short episode of screaming, the girl got quiet to avoid scaring the dog. The mother chose a Chihuahua as her daughter's dog-friend because of an allergy she has to dog hair.

Because of cerebral palsy, the right side of Summer's body is affected. She has a life that is bound by a chaperone escorting her everywhere. Children at Summer's age can be cruel and non-understanding of any kid and even more so for those that experience some sort of a disability. This has caused great difficulty for the young girl. After a longer stay at the hospital because of her seizures, the doctor recommended that the girl have a therapy dog to be her friend along her journey. The mother agreed that it was time for Summer to have some sort of support. Summer is happy because instead of her being protected all the time, she now has somebody that she can care for as well.
