There’s nothing worse than a traffic jam. Whether it’s due to rush hour, bad weather or an accident, it can definitely put a damper on anyone’s day. And when it stretches on for hours and hours, you might just find yourself going a bit crazy. Wendy Chupp Gosset was in this exact situation when she was driving from Denver to Pueblo with her 16-year-old son, Nathan.

In a massive traffic jam caused by a winter storm, the two had already been waiting for five hours when Wendy decided she'd had enough. When an old favorite song came on the radio, she decided to get up and show off some dance moves right there.

Once you realize that you’re going to be stuck for quite a while, there’s usually a process we all go through. Scrolling through various social media pages and newsfeeds, checking your email over and over and yelling at the whiny, arguing kids in the back are all likely part of that process.

As time ticks by and the miles of cars are still at a stand-still, the next step is to stress about how late you are going to be to wherever it is you are going. You might even deal with the frustration of missing out completely on whatever you have planned. It is a recipe for exasperation. Wendy and her son were stuck in such a situation.

A huge winter storm had swept through the area and caused a massive traffic jam on the interstate. They had been stuck there for almost five hours.

For that stretch of time, they did everything they could think to do and exhausted every conversation topic. There is a time when every mom reaches a breaking point, and that’s exactly what happened to Wendy.

When the Backstreet Boys song, “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”, came on the radio, Wendy decided to turn her frustration into dance and started busting some moves right there in her driver’s seat. The 1997 hit seemed to take her back, while her son, who wasn’t even born yet in 1997, begins to slink back in embarrassment.

But that wasn’t enough for the fed-up mom. She popped open her car door, hopped out onto the interstate in the middle of the snowstorm, and started dancing around in the road, moving from car to car.

Nathan could be seen sinking further and further down in his seat and covering his ears as his mom’s wacky unwinding continues outside.

It’s clear that this is just what Wendy needed to release her stress, and she is obviously having a riot as she prances around to the song. After all, she knew she had all the time in the world. Why not spend it having fun instead of sitting in your car in frustration?

Even the Jesus bobblehead danced along on the dashboard, as Wendy continued to bust her moves outside the car, clapping and smiling.

She was beautifully undaunted by her mortified son’s reaction to her behavior, and even let out a laugh when she looked in the car window to see him in all of his humiliation.

In the end, Wendy managed to turn one of the worst days they were having into a fun moment and find the bright side of a frustrating situation. Nathan recovered from his embarrassment and will probably always remember the moment his lovely mom cracked on the interstate, much to the nation’s entertainment.
