For Jenelle Evans, sharing her life publicly has never been optional. She first appeared on “16 and Pregnant” at age 17, later becoming one of MTV’s “Teen Mom” franchise’s most recognizable faces. More than a decade later, Evans said she was still navigating life in the spotlight, but this time with clearer boundaries and a renewed focus on herself.
In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Evans discussed undergoing a mommy makeover. She revealed that she had the procedure done but chose to wait before sharing the news publicly. In December 2025, she posted before-and-after photos on Instagram, showing both the physical changes and the confidence behind her decision.
Evans explained that the timing finally felt right. At 34, she said she was “completely” done having children and wanted to prioritize her own comfort and confidence. She is the mother of three: Jace, 16, Kaiser, 11, and Ensley, 8. In addition to aesthetic reasons, there was also a medical factor. Her saline breast implants needed to be replaced after reaching the typical 10-year limit.
She worked with Dr. Rachel Mason at La Femme Plastic Surgery in Las Vegas, and told the publication that choosing a female surgeon was important to her. Evans said Dr. Mason immediately put her at ease and understood the physical realities of motherhood. When Evans asked whether her abdominal separation could be repaired, she learned a tummy tuck would be required, and she decided to move forward with the complete mommy makeover.
According to Evans, the surgery itself went smoothly, but the recovery period required patience and restraint. In her interview with People Magazine, she admitted that slowing down had been the hardest part. Used to being constantly on the move, she said she struggled with lifting restrictions and limited mobility, particularly due to the trauma to her abdominal muscles. She described needing help just to get out of bed and adjusting to weeks of walking hunched over as her body healed.
Despite the discomfort, Evans said she followed medical advice carefully, including taking regular short walks and extended rest periods. While the process was physically demanding, she said she was finally starting to see the results she hoped for. Nearly a month after the surgery, swelling began to subside, and she could see more definition returning to her body.
“I feel like I’m transforming,” she told the magazine, noting that she could stand upright more comfortably.
Evans said she was aware that sharing her surgery would invite mixed reactions online, but that honesty has always mattered to her.
“I just wanted everyone to know that I’m just as normal as you guys,” she said, adding that she tries “not to look at the negative comments” people leave on her posts.
“Since I started social media, I’ve just shown the real, raw, true self, true personality and everything into my life, all the organic content,” she added.
She also addressed criticism from those who told her she should have simply worked out harder. Evans explained that much of what bothered her was loose skin from pregnancy, something exercise alone could not fix. By speaking openly, she hoped to show other women that they were not alone in feeling discouraged or misunderstood after childbirth.
At home, Evans has been careful about how the experience affects her children, especially her youngest daughter, Ensley. After noticing her mother’s pain, Ensley told her she never wanted surgery herself. Evans reassured her that cosmetic procedures were a personal choice, not an expectation.
