Teen Is Voted Homecoming Queen Only To See It's A Nasty Joke Before Turning Tables On Bullies

Teenagers can be cruel. Often, meanspirited teens will plan horrible practical jokes on their schoolmates. The terrible jokes might even go so far as to attempt to humiliate an innocent person just for fun.

Bullies may think their evil plans will go off without any troubles. Bully prank-pullers at Ogemaw Heights High School in Michigan thought they'd get away with something awful, but they found the tables ironically turned on them.

Whitney Kropp felt grand elation upon learning she was nominated for homecoming queen. Just being nominated shows classmates care about you and hold you in high regard. At least that is the case when the nomination is legitimate.

But this 16-year-old's nomination was, sadly, part of a nasty prank. Classmates nominated her to make fun of the young woman.

The misguided prank could have turned out tragically. Whitney was very upset after learning about the "joke" classmates were playing at her expense. She slipped into depression. At one point, suicidal thoughts passed through her mind.

Young people don't always possess the life experience to understand the consequences of their actions. They don't realize that bullying others to build up their self-esteem can actually hurt people.

Unfortunately, while some may show remorse, others won't. They make excuses for their horrible behavior. As a result, their behavior continues leading to the torment of others.

While a small segment of her schoolmates embraces cruelty, others choose to act more maturely. They informed Whitney of the prank. While the young girl's feelings were hurt, it was better she learned about the joke sooner than later.

Others learned about the prank as well. "Others" included the local news media. Reports about the incident even spread beyond the local news. Whitney received the sympathy of strangers who displayed support for her. Many might've suffered from bullying in their own lives.

All the support from people both near and far did perk up Whitney's feelings, and instead of staying home on the night of homecoming, she showed up and turned the tables on those who were cruel to her. The joke ended up being on the bullies instead. Hopefully, they all learned an important lesson about how to treat people.
