Getting pregnant while in high school is never easy. One teen mom decided adoption was best for her child. But, she had one major stipulation for the adoptive parents: To let her provide breast milk for the baby.
Okay. Let's start at the beginning. Kaleena Pysher found herself pregnant while she was in high school. After thinking long and hard about it, she decided that adoption was the best option for both her and her child.
The great thing was a couple, who were friends with her parents, were looking to adopt. It couldn't have been more perfect. She could still be a part of the child's life, but give the baby a set of loving parents.

Kaleena made the decision when she was four months pregnant. The adoptive parents were brought into the loop as far as ultrasounds and other pregnancy milestones.
As a pregnant woman, Kaleena took her job seriously. She continually researched every aspect of pregnancy and birth to make sure the baby did well.
One day, she came across some information that became very important to her. Babies do better on breast milk, rather on formula. Kaleena knew she was going to be around the baby after birth, so she could provide the breast milk.
One day, when she and the adoptive parents were at the hospital for a routine checkup, Kaleena mentioned that she wanted to provide breast milk for the baby. She wanted to express the milk and then send it to the parents.
The adoptive parents were a bit confused. Did she want to actually breastfeed the baby? No. She wanted to provide the milk so they could feed their baby. It took some explaining, but they eventually agreed. Their daughter needed a good start in life and breast milk would help.
When healthy baby Raylie arrived, her adoptive parents took her home. Kaleena started pumping breast milk and sending it over every day. It eventually filled their fridge-freezer. They got to the point where they told her to slow down. Kaleena didn't want to stop though. So, she found a local charity called NICU that takes breast milk donations for babies don't have a ready source.
Today, Raylie is past the point of needing breast milk. Kaleena is still in contact with the baby and her parents. She has since moved away, but keeps up with things via Facetime.
