Helping kids in need is one of the noblest causes in the world. In 2016, 24-year-old Ashlyn, an occupational therapist dedicated to using her skills to help children joined the Brantley School District in Georgia. When she talks about her struggles and her desire to do better by her students, she gets a major surprise by Ellen on her show.

The school district aptly boasts the motto, "Reach every student, every day." Ashlyn took this motto to heart as she traveled every day to reach children in this poverty-stricken county. Fortunately, Ashlyn and her husband, Brent, live close enough to the district to make this dream a reality for Ashyln.
Ashlyn is clearly heartbroken because her students must fight through so much adversity just to be able to receive an education. In poverty-stricken areas like this county in Georgia, one of the biggest challenges is not enough funding for even basic educational supplies.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres found out about Ashlyn's heart to help every needy student. Ashlyn and her husband were then invited to the show for the surprise of a lifetime.
