It can be difficult when you are in a job that deals with teaching day in and day out. You may feel as if you are not being rewarded enough for all of the effort you put in.

A teacher in South Carolina certainly found out that her profession was still a rewarding one on the day she saw a 7-year-old on his bike alongside the road.

Keller Sutherland felt that her day was “off.” She had even texted her friends to ask for prayer, as she felt as though she wasn’t really connecting with students that day. She was ready to go home early and rest, but she quickly realized that God had a different plan in store for her!

Cameron Simoncic also went home the same as he had done every other day. However, this day was different than most. When he walked in, Carmen found his father on the floor of their kitchen. He was unconscious.

Cameron told WSPA that his father has diabetes. He knew what the problem was immediately, and he also knew that his dad needed help. Unfortunately, he did not have the code to unlock his father’s phone to dial for help. He quickly ran out to see if any neighbors were home, to no avail. He then decided to take his bike and head to his grandmother’s home, which is five miles from his own.

The road to his grandmother’s house went through four lanes of dangerous traffic, but Cameron was determined to get there. It was there that Sutherland spotted the young boy on his bicycle. She was talking to her husband on her phone and told him that she felt that she should turn around and check on him.

After she pulled over, she realized that Cameron was actually a boy she had taught the year before. Cameron quickly explained to his teacher what was wrong with his father. A couple of other concerned drivers also pulled over and dialed 911 as Sutherland attempted to calm the young boy.

The paramedics and firefighters quickly responded to the scene. They injected him with the right injection and then fed him crackers that Sutherland had purchased earlier. Luckily, the man was okay. Keller told the Inside edition that; 'There's no doubt that God placed me where he did when he needed me.'
