The long-awaited trailer for a remake of the musical classic made its debut on Friday and featured a star-studded cast with a significant transformation.

Grizabella, who is portrayed by Jennifer Hudson, sings ‘Memory’ throughout the trailer. The song was originally performed by Elaine Paige when Cats first debuted on the West End back in 1981.

The trailer showcases some fierce choreography and amazing cat costumes, and features sneak peeks of Hudson, Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Taylor Swift, and others play Jellicle cats persuing ascension to the Heaviside Layer.

“I am a cat now and somehow that was everything #CatsMovie.”

Idris Elba, who portrays Macavity in the film, told Variety back in March that Swift was ‘great’ to work with.

“Her and I had a lot of work to do together, and she was amazing,” He said. “She worked hard and was just happy to be there.”

Rebel Wilson, who plays the part of Jennyanydots, a character she described as a ‘middle ages lazy cat’ when speaking to Entertainment Tonight, also spoke fondly about Swift.

“She’s incredible,” she said. “She’s such a lovely girl, and I personally think her cat is the sexiest out of all the cats.”
