Surprising Viral Post By Mom About Ex-Husband's New Girlfriend

It's an unfortunate truth that not all marriages go the distance. Most sources agree that the divorce rate has stayed around 50 percent for the recent years and that high divorce rates create a lot of issues within the standard family dynamic.

When children are involved, the divorce becomes much more complicated. Children have to deal with the split between their parents while also often moving between two different households. Even years after the divorce, parents dating can cause issues. These stories are typically negative more often than not, but there are those rare times when things actually work out fairly well, at least given the circumstances.

Recently, a divorced mom shared a story through social media about her ex-husband's new girlfriend that was much more positive than many might imagine. Brittney Johnson didn't have the marriage she had hoped to have. However, she was lucky enough to have a beautiful daughter, Payton, with her husband before the split.

It might seem that Brittney would have had little reason to praise the new girlfriend of her ex-husband, but that couldn't be further from the case. To express her feelings, she posted a simple question on Facebook. She wondered what other moms would want from a new woman in their child's life. She reasoned that a good role model was exactly what was needed, and she was lucky enough to have such a role model in Kayla. Kayla works as a nursing student and has been showing Payton that women can work toward a goal and succeed just as well as men. Kayla has shown that a busy schedule isn't enough to deter a loving woman from caring for her family, and she has even shared her interest in nursing with Payton by letting the child dress up in scrubs so they can play together.

In the post, Brittney shared to Facebook, she praised Kayla for her position as a strong role model for her daughter. She thanked her for all the work that Kayla does to show that the situation doesn't have to be negative and that Payton can simply have more strong role models in her life.

In closing out the post, Brittney pondered what it is that parents should seek for their children, regardless of the condition of the marriage. Parents should strive to give their children the best they possibly can, and if that includes mentorship from others beyond the parents themselves, then so be it. Parents who refuse to give their children what they need out of spite for their ex-spouse should consider how their actions might affect their children in the future.

If only there were more parents like Brittney in the world, perhaps the problem with the divorce rate wouldn't stop children from living positive, empowering early lives after their parents get divorced. Positivity is much more powerful than negativity, and it can even improve the issues surrounding something as complex as divorce.
