Every once in a while, you might come across a soul that touches yours. Those people are uniquely special, and sometimes they possess some sort of rare talent. Whether it be their kindness, their ingenuity, their ability to work hard, or their creative ability, these souls genuinely change the world.

When it comes to musicians, their talent is undoubtedly often one-of-a-kind. Today, the special talent that we’re talking about is Maggie Rogers.

Superstar Pharrell Williams, a well-known musician, and producer, recently participated in a masterclass inside of the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, which is a program that is located at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. At this masterclass, he took time out of his busy day to appear in front of the students, meeting with a few to discuss their work. He was able to listen to their music and provide feedback from his years of expertise.

But one particular student, Maggie Rogers, stood out from the crowd. When she speaks with him and plays her music for him, his reaction was pure bliss and optimism for her future. You can tell how he genuinely believes in her and her talent by the way he reacts to the music!

The look on his face in the video of the masterclass tells everything about the way he felt.

The young girl, Maggie, talks about her upbringing in rural America. She grew up playing the banjo and spending a lot of time in the outdoors.

When she visited France, she recalls having a spiritual experience that bonded her with dance music for life. Since that moment, she has never stopped creating her own music.

She likes to think of her music as a combination of folk sounds, dance music, and her own vocal ability. This combination of styles cements her music as a unique style with a familiar feel. It’s obvious that Maggie has a long, successful career in music ahead of her.

After listening to Maggie’s music, you’ll be a believer! What do you think about Maggie's song? Did you have the same reaction as Pharrell?
