Kate Moss is a fashion culture icon. Moss' modeling career began in 1988 when the 14-year-old was spotted by Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Management, at JFK Airport. Moss rose to fame in the early '90s after signing with Calvin Klein. The model entered the spotlight toward the end of the supermodel era. The era started in the 1980s, in which models became international celebrities. The leading ladies of this movement were called the Trinity, consisting of Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington. These three iconic models defined the term supermodel.
Although not a part of the supermodel era, Moss led her own movement. The former Victoria's Secret model was dubbed the "anti-supermodel" due to her looks contrasting the typical supermodel aesthetic. Her striking thin figure also caused massive controversy. According to Britannica, Moss' slender physique was accused of "promoting anorexia and pedophilia." The Calvin Klein model became a cultural phenomenon and the symbol for the "heroin chic" era of the '90s. According to The Recovery Village, models from this era displayed specific features such as "pale skin, dark undereye circles, and being thin and androgynous." Despite the uproar, Moss still became one of the highest-paid models. Marie-Claire ranked the model as the fourth highest-paid model of all time. According to the outlet, Moss is worth $70 million. Along with her prominent modeling career, the '90s icon appeared in several music videos, a singing career and launched multiple successful perfumes.
Now, her daughter, Lila Grace Moss Hack, is following her mother's iconic footsteps and changing the fashion world.

In 1994, Kate began dating Johnny Depp. The couple quickly became Hollywood's "It" couple. Although the couple ended in 1998, their relationship had a lasting effect on Kate. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the British model reflected on her "years and years of crying" after calling it quits.
"There's nobody that's ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said, 'What do I do?' he'd tell me," she said. The British model recalled how devastated she was after their breakup. "I really lost that gauge of (having) somebody I could trust. (It was a) nightmare."
Following the end of her rollercoaster relationship with Depp, Kate began dating Jefferson Hack, the founder and editorial director of Dazed Media. The couple welcomed their daughter, Lila, in 2002. Hack's mother, Teresa, told DailyMail why she believed Kate loved her son.
"I think she loves Jeff because he is straightforward, laid back, reliable, and knows so many things," she said.
Their relationship didn't last long after welcoming their daughter, but the former couple has remained within each other's good grace. In an interview with the Evening Standard, Hack revealed that having a child with the famed model helped turn him into the man he is today.
Kate revealed in an interview on the Today Show with Megyn Kelly that motherhood is her "favorite thing" and also changed her as a woman.
"I was never lonely," She said. "I just always had my baby."
Kate described her relationship with her daughter Lila as "really close" during her interview with Kelly.

Lila told British Vogue that her mother tried to persuade her not to model.
"My mum always put me off (modeling)," Lila said. "She was always like, 'If you wanna do it, you can, but I wouldn't recommend it.'"
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kate recalled how modeling negatively impacted her as a teen.
"Nobody takes care of you mentally," she said. "There's a massive pressure to do what you have to do."
Although Kate was wary about Lila starting a modeling career, she signed her to her agency, Kate Moss Agency. Lila, who has been open about having type 1 diabetes, was praised for proudly showing her insulin pump during her runway appearance for Fendi x Versace at Milan Fashion Week. During the show, Lila walked beside some of the world's most recognizable supermodels, such as Campbell, Emily Ratajkowski and her mother, Kate.
In an interview with The Kit, Lila shared that she's not ashamed of having diabetes.
"I think not many people know that I have diabetes," she said. "It's not visible from the outside, so no one would really know just by looking at you. I have type 1."
She also shared with the outlet that she plans on becoming an advocate for people with type 1 diabetes.
"I'd definitely like to try and help as much as I can," she said.
For Kate, witnessing her daughter walk the runway for the first time was "so emotional." She retold the experience to British Vogue.
"I was really nervous for her," she said, "I was sitting around the kitchen table … Some girlfriends (were there), and we were waiting for the show to start on the link. When she came out, we were like, 'She's doing it! She's doing it!' Yeah, I was really proud."
