Supermodel Janice Dickinson Says ‘I Live For Plastic Surgery’ But Denies Having Some Procedures Done

When it comes to highly famous supermodels, the name Janice Dickinson most likely comes to mind. Time and again, Dickinson has claimed that she was the first supermodel to ever exist. She has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry since the 1970s and has continued to stun the world with her looks ever since.

Most people know a model’s job is to sell clothing, accessories or other fashion merchandise through the act of presenting the items in a photoshoot or runway show. What makes a supermodel a step above the rest is that these people are highly paid fashion models who typically have a worldwide reputation and a strong background in both commercial and haute couture or high fashion modeling. The term first rose to fame during the 1990s, although many models from every decade have since been recognized as supermodels.

While Dickinson is best known for her career as a model, she is also known for being a judge on the television show “America’s Next Top Model,” which was hosted by fellow model Tyra Banks. On the show, Dickinson was very opinionated and never afraid to share her views on beauty and fashion industry standards. She was critical of the contestants as she prepared them for the real world of modeling.

As a model, Dickinson has gotten used to people judging her based on her looks – and it’s evident that her appearance has changed over the years. In fact, a plastic surgery expert claimed that Dickinson has had almost every kind of plastic facial surgery a person could get.

Dickinson was born on Feb. 16, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Hollywood, Florida. During the 1970s, Dickinson decided to move back to New York in hopes of pursuing a career in modeling after she won a national competition called “Miss High Fashion Model.” It was a time when blue-eyed blondes were dominating the industry, but Dickinson was determined to prove her worth and beauty as a dark-eyed brunette.

It’s safe to say that she accomplished what she set out to do, as Dickinson found great success in the industry during the 1970s and 1980s. Afterward, she went on to share her wisdom with women who aspired to enter the modeling world and became a judge for four cycles on the TV show “America’s Next Top Model.” Dickinson also opened her own modeling agency in 2005, which was documented on the Oxygen reality series “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” from 2006 to 2008.

Even though “America's Next Top Model” has been off the air for a few years now, the show has been under fire as models from the series and fans of the show have pointed out just how problematic it was. At times in the series, contestants were weighed, measured and told that they needed to change their appearance to fit a certain industry standard.

According to Us Weekly, Dickinson revealed that the series was rigged back in 2011. For several cycles, the winner would earn a contract with the brand CoverGirl – and Dickinson claimed that the brand was much more involved than viewers may have thought.

“CoverGirl are the ones who chose the model – not any of the judges,” Dickinson said. “When I found that out, I split. It’s rigged!” However, The CW network countered the supermodel’s claims.

It’s clear that Dickinson has continued to do her best to stay relevant as time has gone by. She has appeared on a few reality series including “Janice & Abbey” and “Celebrity Big Brother.” She has also released three autobiographies.

However, what many people have continued talking about regarding Dickinson is her looks. While this isn’t unusual for someone who describes herself as the “world’s first supermodel,” many people have talked about just how different the model looks nowadays. In 2012, celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn told Radar Online that Dickinson has had a great amount of work done. He said:

“Janice has made no bones about how much plastic surgery she’s had. The self-proclaimed world’s first supermodel has even undergone some procedures on reality TV. You name it, she appears to have had it. I believe she’s undergone pretty much every facial plastic surgery there is, including a facelift, eyelid lift, lip injections, Botox, fat injections and a brow lift. She’s probably single-handedly paid for her plastic surgeon’s house!”

Back in 2014, Dickinson talked about her plastic surgery with In Touch magazine. Although she was $1 million in debt at the time, she didn’t have plans on slowing down her surgical procedures.

“I live for plastic surgery,” she said.

Dickinson also countered some of the claims made by Youn, as she said that she has “perfect bone structure” and that her lips are all-natural. However, she admitted to using Botox to help herself look more youthful.
