Student With No Money Gave Teacher Simple Gift That Left Her Speechless

Teachers get many gifts from children every year during the holidays. At one school, in particular, a teacher received a very special gift from a student. While many teachers receive heartfelt gifts from their students, sometimes there is that one gift that has increased significantly.
Rachel works at a school where 100% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Some students even receive free breakfast. Many students scrounge together enough to get their teacher chocolates or a trinket for the holidays. However, Rachel had one student, in particular, that could not do that. The student really wanted to give her favorite teacher a Christmas present

This is the gift that teacher and Facebook Rachel Uretsky-Pratt received from one of her students. So, the student picked through her Lucky Charms cereal she got as her free breakfast for all the marshmallows. She took the wrapper from her spoon and filled it with the marshmallows.
This was the gift Rachel received.
It showed so much love and desire to make her happy that it took a special part in her heart. It also showed that the student understood that giving is not about how much you have but that you are willing to share it with others
The story made its rounds through Facebook, where Rachel posted a picture of it and it was shared over and over again. She received many messages from all over the country. She also received offerings of gifts and money

It is interesting to note that research has made some startling discoveries about those who donate. Psychologist Paul Piff found that people of more modest income will donate more often than people who have more money. Piff has done research that demonstrates the difference in philanthropy between the poor and the wealthy. And not just at Christmastime, but all throughout the year

A $5 donation represents a lot more to someone making $30,000 a year that it does to someone making $100,000 per year.
This student brought the spirit of giving to the forefront. It helps give us all a reminder of how much we can do for others. Her parents should be proud that they have raised such a thoughtful young girl
