It has been said that honesty is the best policy and that is certainly true in this case.

Joenel Malanog is a college student at the University of Southeastern Philippines, located in Davao City, Davao del Sur. When the 20-year-old was having problems earning money while going to classes, he decided to open an "honesty store."

This unique food stall provides snacks for students attending class on campus while also appealing to their moral sensibilities.

Although Malanog used to travel around campus selling food, his schedule became too busy for him to continue with the practice. Rather than abandon the idea altogether, Malanog came up with the idea for an honesty store. The first-year entrepreneurship student is getting a real-life education already on how to make a dollar.

Rather than missing out on important sales when it was time to go to class, Malanog decided to leave the stall unattended and rely on everyone's sense of honesty instead.

The store sells classic Philippine staples like lumpia, donuts, pork barbeque, and ice candy.

The prices are pinned to a cardboard sign so that customers can simply leave their money and take what they need.

Malanog uses the money he makes to pay for his own education as well as the schooling for his four siblings.

What a great brother!

The student is also being praised by his university for his service and sense of business innovation.

These pictures tell the entire story. After you have checked out the photos, be sure to spread the amazing idea to everyone else that you know. We could all learn a lot from Malanog's commitment and business sense.
