Stray Kitten Runs Out Of Bushes And Straight Into Her Heart

As there are people out there who have rescued quite a few cats in their time, few can compare to the adorableness of the tiny calico that stumbled out of the wilderness and into the heart of Cassie from California.

The little meows of helplessness echoing from the underside of a deck or around the corner of a garage is sometimes an all-too-common feature of cats without a forever home. Stranded in the wilderness, these little fur babies are often suffering from deprivation.

Their kidneys and muscles are weakened from dehydration, and their bodies have started to wither from malnutrition. Worst of all, cruel humans have inspired them with a leery attitude towards humanity thanks to their callous behavior, even to a creature as innocent as a little kitten.

To gain the trust of such stray cats and kittens, a little bit of ingenuity is essential. Oftentimes it is required to set up a trap of sorts that has been baited with human food. Human food is more effective at times because the poor fur babies have often resorted to scrounging for it on their own for their means of sustenance. However, there is always the exception to every rule: some cats and kittens just come right up to you and start meowing for help.

Perhaps some of the smartest animals out there, cats and kittens know just how to communicate with humans whenever they’re in a time of genuine distress or need help. That’s exactly what happened to Cassie. An avid animal lover, she was out cleaning some horse stalls when she noticed a strange noise coming from the bushes outside.

At first, Cassie thought that it might have been a bird. Her rural property has always been frequented by animals of all kinds. However, when she approached the area, she discovered that it was a tiny kitten meowing her little heart out.

Touched by the kitten’s plight, Cassie called out to the kitten to see if she could get it to approach her on its own. After hearing her summons, the little calico fur baby wasted no time darting out of the foliage. Quickly, the poor little thing was at the feet of Cassie and meowing all the harder. As soon as Cassie lifted the calico into her arms, the kitten waved her paws adorably in thanks. She nuzzled up to her savior, pushing against the nape of Cassie’s neck in thanks.

Cassie took the kitten inside of the horses’ tack room and went to fill a bowl with food and water, but the dehydrated calico was so thirsty that it immediately started to drink from a running hose nearby. Cassie let the cat drink until it was satisfied before giving her a nice bowl of wet cat food from the car. A long-time cat owner, Cassie thanked her luck that she’d gone out to purchase food for her cats back home earlier in the day.

According to LoveMeow, Cassie said that the little ball of fur munched down her food so fast that it was gone in an instant. Fleas jumped off her body, but that didn’t stop Cassie from taking the kitten home for some much needed TLC. After using a special shampoo to remove all the fleas, there was a little more food and water given before the calico spent her first night in a warm bed!

The newly-energized kitten took to her other animals with heart, playing and frolicking happily. The once homeless and destitute stray calico has found a forever home with Cassie and the rest of her furry family. She’s blossomed into the very picture of a shoulder kitty for all to see!
