Stray Kitten Is Welcomed Into The Family By The Family Dog

We often find certain stories about animal behavior to be amazing when in fact they mirror many aspects of our own behavior. We are also brought up to believe that cats and dogs will always behave like cats and dogs, meaning that they will fight and chase each other, but this is not always the case.

Cats and dogs are gregarious animals that believe in the benefit of social relationships as much as we do. Given the right situation, they will get along and bond; this much can be gleaned from Dante and Abyzou, a pair of snow-white creatures that have harmoniously grown up in a Romanian household since they were very young. Dante was an adopted puppy; Abyzou was a rescued kitten, and according to Love Meow, they have been best friends since the very first day they met.

In Brasov, a Romanian city dating back to the Dacian days of the Roman Empire, Sorin Popa and his family were moving into a new place and decided to adopt a puppy that was named Dante. Sorin then thought it would be a good idea to adopt a kitten as a companion to Dante; other household members did not think this was a good idea, but then Sorin ran into a female kitten that was clearly abandoned near a construction site.

Sorin did not think twice about rescuing the kitten, which would later be named Abyzou, because she had a very friendly and affectionate disposition. Abyzou was thoroughly washed, fed, and taken to the local veterinarian clinic before being introduced to Dante. Through this entire process, she behaved as we would expect from a rescued pet, meaning that she was loving and appreciative.

Dante was initially guarded around Abyzou, reports Love Meow. He mostly smelled her and kept a prudent distance despite the kitten's insistence on cuddling. It turned out that Abyzou was a bit more domesticated than Dante, and she taught him how to eat and drink from a shared bowl without making a mess. Before long, Dante was imitating everything his new feline friend did, and they became very playful.
